One of the great things about being in Del Mar is its close proximity to a whole other country. The Mexican border is a short drive away, and once you cross over, there are plenty of nearby communities to explore and enjoy.
Tantalizing Tijuana
The first city just over the Sothern California coastal border is the storied Tijuana. Immediately, you will see color palettes and architectural styles transform. Avenida Revolucion is the hotspot in town. This main street is about as lively as you can imagine.

Relaxing in Rosarito
Baja California has no shortage of beaches. Resort hotspots like Cabo San Lucas all the way at the southern end of the peninsula are legendary. But far closer to Del Mar is Rosarito Beach. This classy seaside hamlet was once a favorite of movie stars during the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Delectable Puerto Nuevo
Now here’s a place you should really work up an appetite for. Puerto Nuevo is well known as one of the area’s premier locations for eating traditional Mexican fare — especially seafood.
