Recently, Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty sat down with Niloo to hear her views on the local real estate industry, her profession, and where she sees the Desert housing market heading for the remainder of the year.

Question: Why did you get into the real estate business?
Niloo: I was naturally drawn to real estate because my mother was a successful Realtor in the Desert. A few years after I graduated from UCLA with an economics degree, I got my real estate license. That was in 1993, and I haven’t looked back.

Q: What made you move to Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty?
N: At this point in my career, I want to be associated with a company that has an impeccable reputation for a global luxury brand and an exceptional track record of service. All the agents in our office are seasoned professionals that have achieved amazing success in their respective real estate careers. I like being surrounded by agents that have the same standard of excellence in service as I do.

Q: What is the best part of being an agent in the Coachella Valley?
N: The best part of my job is connecting buyers to their perfect home that enhances their lifestyle and suits their needs, and also finding the perfect buyer for my listings. I love negotiating favorable terms for clients and exceeding my clients’ expectations in the service I provide to them.

Q: Yet, certainly there can be frustrations as well?
N: I think the cycles of the business can be frustrating to a newcomer. But if you plan accordingly, save money while the momentum is strong and have the ability to market and advertise to distinguish yourself and your properties when others are slowing down their advertising.

Q: Where were you born and raised? What brought you to the Desert Community?
N: I grew up on an Island off the coast of Spain…Mallorca. I had a wonderful childhood and went to school on a Vespa and windsurfed every day after school. I came to the Desert after getting my degree in Economics from UCLA. My uncle was a plastic surgeon here and my grandmother who had MS loved the dry hot weather so she moved here. Then my mother moved here and here I am 25 years later doing what I love.

Q: Where do you see the Coachella Valley real estate market heading as we enter the last quarter of 2018?
N: The last quarter of 2018 is going to be great with the momentum continuing. From everything I read, there may be a bump in the road, a slow down in the next 18 months. We have been through these cycles before and we’ll plan accordingly.

Q: What makes the Coachella Valley a great place to live?
N: For Families? Retirees? I think the Coachella Valley is a wonderful place to live. I have raised my two boys here. The Desert weather 8 months of the year lends itself to an active, outdoor lifestyle. My boys played water polo through high school and were so exhausted when they came home that it kept them out of trouble! The Desert also provides a great quality of life for retirees. People are so friendly here. There is so much to do. Wonderful hiking trails, some of the world’s most renowned golf courses, as well as the theatre, shopping, and great dining.

Q: Why is it important to hire an experienced real estate agent?
N: I think it is important to hire a real estate agent who has a track record of success. An agent who is knowledgeable about the local market and can negotiate favorable terms and provide exceptional service while walking you through every step of the buying or selling process. Basically, all agents are not created equal and I think it is important for buyers and sellers in our market to know that just like any other industry, who you work with matters!

Q: Your real estate record is extremely impressive! What do you owe your success to?
N: I am very fortunate to be doing something I love and am passionate about. I work very hard and make the whole real estate experience about my buyers and sellers. I stay on top of trends in my industry and use the highest standards in innovation and technology to promote my listings. A big portion of my business is from satisfied past clients so that is a testament to my hard work and dedication. My father always said to me: “Whatever you do, give it your all and be the best at it.” That is what I strive to be in my business and to my clients. I want my clients to know that they can expect excellence when they are working with me and my team.

Q: Finally, when you aren’t working with your clients, what do you like to do in your spare time?
N: I love to cook for friends and family. Traveling is a passion of mine. I also love to hike, spin, and work out at the gym to stay in shape.
