Pacific Sotheby's International Realty Welcomes Sorin Balaianu

A native of communist Romania, Sorin defected in 1976 as a world class wrestler. His journey took him to Turkey and Italy, and rather than participate in the Olympics, he chose to come to America.

After attending Hofstra University in New York, Sorin, using his intuition and natural negotiating skills, engineered the first marketing relationship between a major hotel casino, Caesar’s Tahoe, and a ski resort, Ridge Tahoe. This marketing plan generated over $35 million a year for nearly 12 years.

Sorin is referred to by his peers as a constant connector. His marketing and sales efforts helped sell out resorts like Pacific Grove Plaza, Scottsdale Camelback Resort and Spa, and Marriott Desert Springs.

Since 1990, Sorin has lived in Coronado and North San Diego where he worked at the Four Season's Resident’s Club Aviara for 14 years. Sorin was recognized as one of the top three Sales Executives of Four Seasons Worldwide in 2008. Through his diverse marketing and real estate experiences, Sorin has built strong relationships with all of his friends and clients, and earned an extensive referral base.

Sorin understands Sotheby’s International Realty's global reach of buying and selling homes, bringing his dedication and enthusiasm to all transactions. He specializes in coastal San Diego and Coronado real estate and keeps up to date on current real estate laws and regulations.

Although he loves all of San Diego, Sorin believes that Coronado's summer Concerts in the Park and Fourth of July parade exemplify America at its finest. Sorin enjoys golf, soccer, tennis, and coaching high school wrestling as a volunteer in the San Diego area.  He speaks Romanian, Italian and conversational Spanish.
